Q: If you could classify your music in a genre or a number of genres what would it be?
Q: If you could use a tagline of less than 20 words to describe your music and who you are what would it be?
Q: What is your musical background?
I was trained classically in opera and cabaret at Andy Anselmo’s The Singer’s Forum in New York City. I fell in love with country music in high school when I first visited Nashville; the rich history of country music perfectly encapsulates my intention to express emotion freely and honestly.
Q: How was 2010 for you?
I spent 2010 writing and recording my debut album, Fallen Flower, in New York City and Nashville. Fallen Flower was released in January 2011 to iTunes, Bandcamp, and Amazon.
Q: Who inspires you musically?
My musical heroes include Bob Dylan, Jewel, Stevie Nicks, and Ella Fitzgerald.
Q: Which modern day artists do you look up to?
Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Willie Nelson.
Q: Is there anyone you would like to collaborate or gig with?
I just listened to Stevie Nicks’ new album, In Your Dreams, produced by Dave Stewart. I greatly admire Dave and Stevie.
Q: What songs are on your iPod at the moment?
Windows Are Rolled Down by Amos Lee, Secret Love by Stevie Nicks, Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris, Little Bird by Kasey Chambers, and Never Going Back Again by Fleetwood Mac.
Q: What is your creative process for creating a track?
Songwriting is a very organic process. It begins with an emotion or sentiment. I intend to keep the process as effortless and unhindered as possible.
Q: What’s more important, melody or lyrics?
The marriage of melody and lyric is a beautiful and delicate art. The intersection point of the two always remains honesty and emotion.
Q: Where are you based?
New York City.
Q: What’s it like being where you’re from?
I love the energy and the excitement of New York City. I also love the Union Square Farmer’s Market!

I am currently touring New England boarding schools. The tour has been so successful and enjoyable that I have decided to continue it into Fall 2011. For more information or booking, visit www.carolinejones.com.
Q: What’s been the highlight of your career to date?
