Q: Who are you called?
We are The Evidence! Casey, Dean and Tyler….Pleased to meet you!

Q: If you could use a tagline of less than 20 words to describe your music and who you are what would it be?
We are a progressive, melodic band that wants to put some heart, brains and sincerity back into rock music.

Q: What is your musical background?
The three of us have a combined 50 years experience in touring and performing original acts. Something like 30 different bands between us over the years. Plus promoting local shows, doing live sounds, running a recording studio…we’re musical guys!

Q: Who inspires you musically?
We draw our inspiration from a variety of musical sources: From Rush, to Queen, The Cure, Coheed and Cambria, Bad Religion, Aphex Twin, Prince, The Beatles, Iron Maiden, AFI, we could go on for days…anywhere we can find good music.

Q: Is there anyone you would like to collaborate or gig with?
We’d LOVE to be on a bill with any of the above mentioned artists that are still performing, for sure!

Q: What is your creative process for creating a track?
Usually Casey or Tyler will come up with a basic musical framework for a song, then whoever comes up with some killer lyrics first will write the words. It never ends up one way, though…always different!

Q: What’s more important, melody or lyrics?
Man, that’s like asking whether you like the peanut butter or the bread better…it’s a symbiotic relationship

Q: Where are you based?
Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Represent.

Q: What are you currently working on?
Our new record “Currents” is about to be released, so we’re gearing up for the combination CD/Vinyl release show at the end of March in our home town, to be followed shortly by the international release, video release and a European tour in April/May. Busy times!

Q: What are you hoping to achieve in 2011?
Well, we’ve already finished the aforementioned record, the first two videos are finished, and our European tour is booked and ready to roll. After that’s done, a short break, followed by some more local touring, and perhaps Europe again at the end of the year…we’re looking forward to it.

Editor’s Comment: The Evidence have an appealing sound which combines elements of energetic punk rock with melodic depths. The Evidence are one of Song Revelation’s one to watch in 2011. Make sure you check them out if they’re playing a gig near you!
